WEEK 5
TUESDAY CLASS CANCELED FOR INSTRUCTOR DAY AT SCCC.
THURSDAY: For class I would like to see a sample of a banner that you created for your self or in place of some other banner on a web site, using the skills we learned so far.
MIDTERM
Our Mid-Term will consist of a collection of images that you must download and alter in Photoshop. Then you will be required to combine all these images into a single file and email me the file.
The mid term is open book. It will be due Before Midnight on the 11th and we will talk about the mid term on Thursday. You will have all day thursday to ask questions but after this weekend I will not be available to answer questions on this test.
Mid Term:
Please read the directions carefully.
1. HEALING BRUSH: ELEMENT Right Click and "save as"
Using your healing brush... remove the clouds in this image.

2. ALIGNMENT: ELEMENTS (A photoshop Document) Right Click and "save as"
Download the element and Align The Following layers.
TO LOOK LIKE THIS:

Once you have done that. Select image size and reduce it to no more than 400px wide.
3. LAYER EFFECTS: ELEMENTS(A photoshop Document) Right Click and "save as"
Using your layer effects Add at least THREE effects to the following img. It does not need to look exactly like mine. PG 305-320 of your book


4. MASKING: Motorcycle Right Click and "save as"
It does not have to be perfect...but I want you to create a mask by selecting the image and turning it into a layer. Then I would like you to mask out everything except the Motorcycle and rider. NEXT you need to take a screen shot and crop out the layer panel of your screen shot and place it into your masked out image as you see below.

5. SELECTION TOOL/WAND: House & SKY Right Click and "save as"
Select the house using your Quick Selection or lasso tool and copy and paste it into the new sky layer. Hint... Try selecting the sky first in the house image and then inverse your selection. You can look up inverse in your book in Chapter 8.
NOTE: Your after picture does not need to be cropped like mine if you do not wish. I am not concerned with the order or the way in which you choose to to accomplish this task, simply that you can create an image similar to the one on the right.

6. FINAL TASK:
Combine all these images into a single letter sized page and flatten it into a jpg that you can email me. INCLUDE YOUR FULL NAME AND "WEB114" using text tool.
