Cheap Eats: Where prices are low, but the chow's top of the line

The beef and lamb sizzles, slowly spinning on the vertical broiler as you watch eagerly behind the counter. With a long-blade knife, owner/cook Ahmed Asfour carves strips of well-seasoned meat that fall into a pan he holds in his other hand. The strips are tucked into a thick warm pita with lettuce, tomato, red onions and a cool tzatziki sauce of yogurt, sour cream and cucumber. The result is a perfectly rolled gyro that makes you wish you, too, lived in Greenwood and near Mr. Gyro's.
