Women Only
It's Sunday; the morning air is cool with an autumn breeze cutting through the sun with a welcoming sigh of relief. It's a great day to clean out and reorganize the garage for winter, putting away the summer tools and clearing a space so you can actually park your cars inside.
Then you hear the question that's not really a question. It's more like a solid plan wrapped in a question form.
The Italian Concours d' Elegance is having their show today, I'd kind of like to go and see what they have to show this year. Are you interested in going ?
Truly what is it that a guy can go to a car show every year and not only like it, but drool a little when talking about the engines, the horsepower, how many were made, the value, the interior, the design, and always how fast they can go. The go fast part is always reported with an elevated voice while their eyes roll back in their head.
You agree to go, but your agreeability may be a little short on the feeling excited part.
It's possible that every woman has wondered this a time or two even if she's never said it with audible words. Here's the upside for the women:
It's a Sunday morning, you're on the beautiful Seattle water front listening to an Italian Opera singer at lunch time, while drinking your latté, eating your Italian Dogs, finishing off with Italian Ice, all the while being surrounded by the most beautiful Italian vehicles of all time.
The exquisite Italian design begins to get in your taste buds and flows right into the heart of your blood. Before you know it you're calling the vehicles by their year and name. You begin cruising the pier to see if the vehicle you really liked last year was in the show again this year. You start talking about the vehicle you'd like to own and can support this decision with educated reasons.
The pride from the owners begins to rub off on you and you find yourself telling the owners how much you appreciate their taste. The owners welcome your compliments and share the life story of the vehicle. You even find yourself asking questions, not to be polite, but out of sheer interest.
You've memorized everything on the raffle table and purchased your tickets to possibly win something, anything, winning is just fun. You're supporting the Make a Wish foundation and helping kids and families even if you don't win that's something.
The day has come to an end. The awards have been presented, your better half is extremely happy and you've had an eventful and fun day out together. Now he has intense motivation to re-organize and clean out that garage you know for that Italian vehicle he has his eye on.
Until next year, may you drive safely; love each other and Italian vehicles.
